At the end of 2025, Varna will host an extraordinary musical event: the festive concert Jazz Fiesta. It will take place on December 30 at 7:00 p.m. in Hall 1 of the Festival and Congress Center in Varna. Admission is free. The city will be immersed in a diverse jazz atmosphere for two hours, promising to be one of the year's cultural highlights.
The rich program of Jazz Fiesta brings together artists from the Netherlands, Cuba, and Bulgaria. They will present a variety of styles during one musical evening, ranging from the energetic swing of Billie Holiday to the fiery Latin rhythms of Havana.
Sherry Dyanne, one of the brightest European jazz and soul singers from the Netherlands and a nominee for the prestigious Edison Award, will open the concert. She will perform on stage with Varna pianist and composer Dimitar Bodurov and his grand ensemble. They will present a program featuring arrangements written especially for her. These arrangements will be performed by a group of leading Bulgarian jazz musicians and a string orchestra conducted by Stratsimir Pavlov.
The Ramón Valle Latin Jazz Group, featuring the Latin Grammy-nominated trumpeter Maite Hontelé, will perform the glamorous finale. Considered one of the world's best Cuban jazz pianists, Ramón Valle has performed on prestigious international stages and at festivals in London, Montreux, Cape Town, and Melbourne. Maite and Ramón create music that captures the spirit of Havana, the freedom of modern jazz, and the power of live musical interaction. They will be joined on stage by Omar Rodríguez Calvo on bass, Jamie Peet on drums, and Marcos Betancourt on percussion.
